Check-in is available from 2:00 pm. If you arrive earlier, we offer luggage storage and you’re welcome to enjoy the hotel facilities while you wait.
Check-out time is 10:00 am. If you require a late check-out, please contact reception. Late check-outs are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge. Alternatively, we can store your luggage while you continue to enjoy our facilities.
Guest Requirements
All reservations must be made by guests aged 18 years or older. Proof of ID may be requested upon check-in.
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of your reservation.
Cancellations & Amendments
To cancel or amend your reservation, please contact us and quote your confirmation number.
Dining
Wellington’s Restaurant offers a sumptuous buffet breakfast, lunch, and buffet dinner for your dining pleasure.
Credit Card Pre-Authorisation
A NZ$100 per night (up to 4 nights) credit card pre-authorisation is required upon check-in to cover incidental charges.
This hold will be released upon check-out, minus any additional charges. Please note that it may take up to 7 days for the funds to appear back in your account.
Payment Methods
Please note: A debit card is not considered a credit card and cannot be used to check in. However, debit cards may be used for final payment.

Pet Policy
At The Waipuna Hotel, we are committed to providing a clean, comfortable, and allergy-conscious environment for all guests. In support of this commitment, we have established the following policy regarding pets and service animals.
1. No Pets Policy
Pets are not permitted anywhere on the premises, including but not limited to guest rooms, balconies, common areas, and all outdoor spaces.
2. Service Animals
Certified service animals, as defined under New Zealand law, are welcome at Waipuna Hotel. A service animal is individually trained to perform specific tasks that assist a person with a disability.
Upon check-in, staff may respectfully ask: Whether the animal is required due to a disability; and what task(s) the animal has been trained to perform.
Please Note: Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy animals do not meet the legal definition of a service animal in New Zealand and are therefore not permitted on the premises.
3. Rationale This policy is in place to: Minimise potential allergic reactions, phobias, or sensitivities among guests: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotel.
4. Policy Violations:- Guests who bring unauthorized animals onto the property may be subject to: A minimum cleaning and sanitization fee of NZD $250; Immediate termination of their stay without refund.
5. Accessibility Enquiries:- Guests requiring accessible accommodations involving a service animal are encouraged to contact the hotel directly prior to arrival to ensure all necessary arrangements can be made. For further clarification, please contact our front desk team at Waipuna Hotel.
